      (6) Power supply: The city is within the power network of Gezhouba and Three Gorges so adequate quantity of the electricity can be available and the power source stable and reliable. Three transformer stations of or over capacity 110KV have been built up within the town area (one of 220KV and two of 110KV), and another, the transformer station of 220KV in Donghu industrial Park is under project preparation. A dual-line power supply system is adopted for the industrial parks; the reliability rating 99.9%, of High voltage stability, variation in wave rating under 5%, surge under 50+0.2, and time of power source frequency switching 0.03 second.
      (7) Water supply: A waterworks of daily output volume 200,000 ton and two waterworks of daily output volume 100,000 ton Have been built up within the town area, presently there are two waterworks put into operation with a daily capacity of 100,000 ton. The waterworks intakes water from the river water of Yangtze, which; after purification, meet or surpassing higher than the standards WHO93 in aspects of physical indicators. For some impurities as fluoride and hydrogenate the indicators meet the safety and reducibility requirement. This is especially favorable for semi-conductor and TFT-LCD enterprises, which consume water in large quantity.
       (8) Gas supply: A construction project of the urban piped gas is presently under planning that is estimated to starting in 2004.
       (9) Communications: Telephone capacity in the town has exceeded 100, 000, having formed the information highway mainly based on the optical fiber net, all data communication business available for all the users. There are many TV channels available through the cable TV and overseas TV program and digital movies can be received through the set-top box; and the broadband sharing and connection can be gotten by the cable modem.
      (10) Treatment of sewage and solid waste: Construction of the sewage treatment plant with the capacity of 100,000 ton in Xihu industrial Park is under way now. The capacity of discharge collectable now in town amounts to 50,000 ton, and the sewage treatment plant can be put into operation by 2004 year. Construction of a solid waste treatment plant is under preparation, which is purposed to attain a percentage 98% in the solid waste treatment and burying.
      (11) Disaster-proof and relief mechanism: The fire-protection sub-brigade of armed police and fire-proof brigade-team are maintained in the town area, equipped with advanced extinguishing equipments, capable of fighting effectively against challenges disastrous accidents and relief. There are 5 comprehensive hospitals in the town area, positioned to offer emergency aid for various industrial injures.
